After 6 overs, England 31/0 (Zak Crawley 6, Ben Duckett 19)

FOUR! Duckett doesn’t spare Siraj either, punching a short, wide delivery from the seamer square of the wicket to collect his third boundary inside two overs. He’s assumed charge in this partnership so far, with Crawley happy to take his time at the other end right now.

Six runs conceded by Siraj in what is the final over of the session as England head to tea having collecting 31 runs without losing a single wicket, thanks to an attacking start from Duckett as well as five penalty runs awarded to the visiting team.

We’ll be back in 20 minutes’ time and might just witness the introduction of Ravichandran Ashwin on the other side of the interval.

After 5 overs, England 25/0 (Zak Crawley 5, Ben Duckett 14)

Crawley sets off for a single at the start of Bumrah’s third over. FOUR! Second boundary for Duckett in as many overs from Bumrah as he cuts a short, wide delivery from the lead Indian pacer behind point. Makes it two boundaries in the same over with a lovely drive through the cover region in the final ball of the over. Bumrah off to an expensive start today, leaking 17 runs in three overs.

Tidy over from Siraj as he collects the first maiden of the innings, with Duckett blocking his way through the over. Siraj is also getting plenty of carry on what is a sporting Rajkot wicket.

FOUR! First boundary of the English innings as Duckett decides to punch a short-of-length delivery from Bumrah in front of square. Fine stop by Kuldeep at square leg in the final delivery of the over after Duckett decides to go for an aerial drive in his direction, restricting the southpaw to just a single.

After 2 overs, England 11/0 (Zak Crawley 4, Ben Duckett 1)

Mohammed Siraj appears to have recovered from the physical discomfort in the hamstring area that had him hobbling shortly before the fall of the final Indian wicket. Ben Duckett, who’s on strike for the first time in this over, sets off for a single in the third delivery to get off strike. Crawley collects a brace right after with a drive, this time between extra cover and mid off. LBW appeal by Siraj in the fifth delivery but this one was easily missing leg. Another faint LBW appeal in the next ball, and this time Crawley appears to have got a thick inside edge.

After 1 over, England 8/0 (Zak Crawley 2, Ben Duckett 0)

Bumra starts off with two slips in place along with a gully, and starts off with a no ball, making it six runs on the board for the Englishmen without a ball bowled in the innings. Zak Crawley then collects the first runs off the bat with a brace in the third delivery, pushing the ball through the cover region.

England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett make their way to the centre along with the Indian team, the visitors already having five runs on the board courtesy the penalty slapped on the Indian team for their batters running on the danger area multiple times. Jasprit Bumrah starts off with the new ball in hand. After his handy knock of 26, can he get an early wicket or two for the hosts?

After 130.5 overs, India 445 (Mohammed Siraj 3)

Bit of delay before the start of Wood’s second over of the new spell as Siraj needs a bit of spray on his right knee, where he got hit while attempting a reverse sweep off Hartley that led to the LBW appeal. FOUR! Bumrah heaves a pitched up delivery from Wood towards the vacant midwicket fence to collect his third four. Pushes for a second run in the following delivery and this time Siraj starts hobbling while reaching the non-striker’s end to complete the second run. The physio makes his way out to the centre for the second time in less than an over, and this surely isn’t looking good for the Indian camp and might just put a question mark over Siraj’s participation in the remainder of the Test. England burn a review after an unsuccessful appeal for leg-before against Siraj in the fourth delivery, with Stokes reluctantly going for it. The ball was narrowly missing the leg stump. Another LBW appeal by Wood in the very next delivery, this time against Bumrah, and this time umpire Dharmasena raises his finger. It was an off-cutter from the pacer that deceived ‘Boom’, hitting him on the pad bang in front of middle and leg. Bumrah decides to review it, and gets three reds on HawkEye that signal the end of the Indian innings.

India have been bowled out for 445 after opting to bat, with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj helping take the home team within touching distance of 450 with a stroke-filled final-wicket stand worth 30.

After 130 overs, India 437/9 (Jasprit Bumrah 19, Mohammed Siraj 3)

Mark Wood returns to the attack on the other side of the drinks interval as Stokes attempts to end the last-wicket stand with fiery pace. Both Siraj and Bumrah collect a single each. Hartley replaces Rehan from the other end and concedes just a single off it. The left-arm spinner had appealed successfully for LBW in the fourth delivery but Siraj went for the review right away, and got the decision overturned as UltraEdge confirmed a spike.

IND vs ENG 3rd Test Day 2 Live Score and Updates: All eyes will be on Ravindra Jadeja who is on unbeaten 110 as India look to earn a solid first innings totals. After Mark Wood and Tom Hartley struck early for England who lost the toss, it was Rohit Sharma and Jadeja who rescued the home team with a mammoth 204-run stand. Rohit was eventually dismissed on 131 as he became the oldest Indian to score a Test hundred. The departure of the Indian captain gave Sarfaraz Khan his deserved time in the spotlight as he made an impressive 62 off just 66 deliveries on debut. Despite playing his first India game, Sarfaraz showed no nerves and was confident in his sweep shots and hits down the ground. He got out as a result of mix up with his batting partner Jadeja, who completed his century on the next balls after Sarfaraz’s dismissal.

Nonetheless Jadeja soon completed his hundred and steered India to 326/5 on Day 1 and in a much comfortable position than how the day began. Now the all-rounder will have eyes on more runs to take the hosts to a solid first innings total.
