D.C. police on Friday identified three people killed in a Wednesday evening shooting inside an apartment building in Northeast Washington.

The victims are Renee Bigelow, 58, of no fixed address; Kimberly Stevens, 40, of Northeast; and Leon Harper, 59, of Northeast, according to police.

A woman who said she was Bigelow’s daughter said the family was not ready to talk publicly about her mother. Efforts to reach relatives of Stevens and Harper were not immediately successful.

The shooting occurred just before 7:40 p.m. in the 5000 block of Jay Street NE. Police said they responded to a report of an unconscious person and found the two women and man dead with gunshot wounds inside an apartment.

Two of the victims were found in the living room, and one was found in the bedroom, according to the police report.
