Click: Aspen Thrift Shop donates to non-profits, schools

For 75 years, the Aspen Thrift Shop has distributed grants to non-profit organizations and school programs up and down our valley. These funds are available thanks to those who donate goods to our volunteers who sort, price, display, and sell at the shop and to everyone who makes a purchase.
This is the legacy of the Aspen Thrift Shop, started in 1949 with the original goal to fund housing for nurses who worked at the hospital. As the years rolled by, the thrift shop took on many more deserving projects, including Aspen’s first kindergarten, first hot lunch program, and the Aspen Ski Club.
Our volunteers meet throughout the year to hear from many of the over 300 non-profits currently serving our community.
In February 2024, the recipients of Aspen Thrift Shop grants are: Ascendigo Autism Services, Aspen High School Drama Club, Aspen High Spirit and Dance Team, Aspen Middle School Mentor and Challenge Program, Aspen School District Preschool and Community Partners, Basalt High School Tennis Team, Basalt Hight School Aerospace Club, Basalt High School Book Club, Basalt High School Environmental Club, Basalt High School Experiential Education Program, Basalt Middle School Science Program, Casting For Recovery, Inc., Growing Years Preschool, Raising a Reader, Rock and Roll Academy, The Buddy Program, The Farm Collaborative, Theater Masters, and Thunder River Theatre.
Information on these grantees may be found on their websites.
Thank you for supporting the Aspen Thrift Shop and these worthy organizations,
The Ladies of the Aspen Thrift Shop
