Former Celtic footballer Anthony Stokes has been detained in Scotland, after the UK police were seeking his arrest for failing to appear in court to be sentenced for abusing his ex-partner.
The Dubliner, who has nine caps for the Republic of Ireland, flew from the Irish capital on Thursday and handed himself into police in Motherwell, according to the Daily Record newspaper.
