Highs in 60s Thursday before late afternoon cool down
Thursday has been mostly sunny with a high of 65 in Durham, 66 in Raleigh, 65 in Rocky Mount, 68 for the high in Fayetteville.
The outdoor practices Thursday, it's going to be very comfortable, especially in the first part of the evening hours.
We'll stay in the 60s through 5 p.m. Then we're down into the upper 50s by late afternoon.
It will be breezy with wind gusts up to 25 mph.
"We are looking at some breezy conditions this afternoon," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. "Those southwesterly winds will help warm up our temperatures."

- Thursday: Partly cloudy, windy and milder. Highs in the mid-to-upper 60s.
- Friday: Mostly cloudy and still very mild. Highs in the upper 50s-lower 60s.
- Saturday: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. High is 56.
Looking ahead
With the high moving off shore, warmer temperatures will build in for Thursday. A weak front will swing in Friday that will slowly allow cooler air to spill in. Highs will range in the low-to-mid 60s for both days.
The weekend is cooler with highs in the mid 50s.
A couple of showers are possible for early Saturday, but the rest of the holiday weekend is quiet. Monday will be partly sunny with highs in the low 60s.

Eclipse coming up in April!
- April 8 is the date of the next total solar eclipse for North America. We won't see a total eclipse in North Carolina, but lots of people will travel to take it in! Ohio will be the closest spot to drive to from Raleigh for the path of totality.
