Samsung and Red Bull have united for a new collaboration that will showcase the power of the Galaxy S24 Ultra camera system at multiple Red Bull events throughout the year.

Samsung is now the official smartphone action camera sponsor for 2024 Red Bull events, the first of which is Red Bull Magnitude. It's a first-of-its-kind female surfing competition described as:

“A content-driven contest open to big-wave surfers from around the world.”

The contest brings together newcomers and veterans to ride the waves around Hawaii. Red Bull Magnitude began on January 1 and will end on February 29. Prizes are worth $50,000.

Galaxy S24 Ultra will capture powerful Red Bull moments throughout the year

Thanks to its powerful camera system, Galaxy AI features, and high durability enhanced by dust and water resistance, the Galaxy S24 Ultra easily earned its spot as Red Bull's official action camera for multiple events in 2024.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with a rear-facing camera system consisting of:

    • A 200MP primary shooter featuring Optical Image Stabilization, multi-directional Phase Detection Auto Focus, and Laser Autofocus.
    • A 50MP 111mm periscope telephoto camera featuring OIS, PDAF, and 5x optical zoom.
    • A second 10MP 67mm telephoto camera with Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS, and 3x optical zoom.
    • A 12MP ultra-wide 120-degree camera with Super Steady Video capabilities and Dual Pixel PDAF.

The new Galaxy S24 Ultra flagship also boasts features like 100x zoom (optical + digital), an upgraded Single Take camera mode, and better Dual Recording. The latter feature allows users choose two sensors and record a video with both simultaneously.

In its official press release, Samsung revealed that athletes Izzi Gomez and Laura Enever are now using the Galaxy S24 Ultra in their downtime to create social media content for the Red Bull Magnitude event.

The event's contest winners will be revealed in March, and we will have to wait and see where Red Bull takes the powerful Galaxy S24 Ultra as its official smartphone action camera next.

Samsung better not remove Notification Categories in One UI!

The Notification Categories feature is among the most useful and well-integrated One UI elements. I'd go as far as to say it's probably underrated, but that doesn't really bother me as long as the feature exists and remains a part of One UI. To be frank, the thought that Samsung might be preparing to remove […]
