They may not say it publicly but there is surely a decent cohort of inter-county players who were envious of Austin Gleeson’s comments having taken a year out of the Waterford hurling fold.
Gleeson had been on the inter-county carousel since coming straight out of minor in 2014 and his body and mind were fatigued after 10 seasons. It wasn’t easy but he had to yell stop.
