Rohit Sharma was fuming as Ravindra Jadeja sacrificed debutant Sarfaraz Khan to ensure he got a rare Test century.

The Indian spinner was stuck on 99 when he set off for a run from a Jimmy Anderson delivery, but he hit it straight to Mark Wood, who threw down the stumps at the non-striker's end.

Debutant Khan was already halfway down the track when Jadeja sent him back, but it was too late as Wood had destroyed the stumps to leave India five wickets down in the third Test of this five-match series.

Khan had played brilliantly, scoring a rapid 62, and it looked like he might get a century before Jadeja, who was stuck in the 90s for an hour.

However, the Indian number five ensured that wasn't happening as Jadeja hilariously sacrificed Khan like a lamb to the slaughter.

The two exchanged words, and captain Sharma was pictured throwing down his hat in disgust.

At this moment, Jadeja was clearly playing for himself and then scored just his fourth Test century the following ball.

It was a shambolic piece of cricket from Jadeja, who realised instantly he would never make it, so he decided that Khan's wicket was less important.

Anderson then had a few words with Jadeja to indicate that he shouldn't have the gall to celebrate his century after abandoning Khan.

Certainly, it drew a great reaction from David 'Bumble' Lloyd on-air.
