French distillery Naud releases aged golden rum
French distillery Naud has launched a new rum in collaboration with Destilería Sofa of Venezuela. Naud Ron Venezula 12 Years Old Golden Rum is Naud’s second rum expression, joining Naud Ron Panama 15 Years Old Rum in the distillery’s range.
Founded in 1923, Naud is a family distillery based in the Cognac region in France. Historically a Cognac distillery, Naud now also produces gin, vodka, and rum.
The new Ron Venezuela is aged for 12 years outside the Venezuelan capital of Caracas. It then travels to France, where it matures for a further six months in French oak casks at the Naud distillery before bottling.
According to the brand, the result is an “aromatic rum” with notes of mocha, muscovado sugar, coconut, cedarwood, and oak.
Chris Jones, marketing director at Naud’s UK distributor Paragon Brands, commented: “Over the past century, Naud has been providing the drinks market with premium spirits, imbued with rich heritage and a bold sense of adventure.
“The partnership with Destilería Sofa marks the latest masterful journey for both Naud and Paragon, and we’re proud to bring the rich flavour and story of Naud Ron Venezuela to UK consumers.”
Naud Ron Venezuela 12 Years Old Golden Rum is available in the UK now via Paragon Brands.
