Mandsaur lok sabha seat (General) is an unreserved category seat which has been held by bjp for a long time. In 2009, Meenakshi Natarajan of congress had won this lok sabha seat by 30,000 votes by defeating the then mp Lakshmi Narayan Pandey. This can be considered the biggest victory of Congress. Lakshminarayan Pandey has been mp from Mandsaur lok sabha seat for a long time.

The record of 2014 was also broken

After this, in the year 2014, there was a close contest between Sudhir Gupta and the then mp Meenakshi Natarajan on Mandsaur lok sabha seat, in which Sudhir Gupta lost the election to Meenakshi Natarajan by three lakh votes. This was a big blow not only for congress but also for Meenakshi Natarajan. Although Meenakshi Natarajan once again tried to give competition to bjp in 2019, this time the record of 2014 was also broken. congress had to face a crushing defeat here. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, Meenakshi Natarajan lost the election by 3,76,000 votes.

Mandsaur lok sabha seat includes a total of eight assembly seats. Apart from Mandsaur and Neemuch, some areas of Ratlam district are also included in these. If we link the Mandsaur lok sabha seat election with the assembly elections 2023, then at present the bharatiya janata party seems to have a slight upper hand. In the assembly elections 2023, under Mandsaur lok sabha seat, Vipin Jain of congress won only from Mandsaur by 3700 votes, the decision of all the remaining assembly seats came in favor of BJP. These include Javra, Suwasra, Malhargarh, Garoth, Javad, Neemuch, manasa assembly seats.
