According to media reports, serial entrepreneur and investor Ronnie Screwvala has arranged a gathering of edtech founders in Delhi this week to address significant challenges encountered by the edtech sector in India.

In an email addressed to several edtech firms, Screwvala, who is also the founder of UpGrad, a higher learning startup, highlighted the need for a joint meeting to discuss fundamental issues affecting the entire sector.

Screwvala underscored the importance of collective discussion, stating that while the meeting may or may not lead to the formation of a concrete agenda for future actions, it would be advantageous to collectively address pertinent issues.

Emphasising the significance of participation, Screwvala urged attendees to make an effort to join the meeting, especially considering the lack of significant impact or formal recognition of the existing informal industry group.

Moreover, Screwvala recently voiced support on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) for the decision of Byju's major shareholders to convene an extraordinary general meeting, aimed at replacing the current management and restructuring the board.
