"Laal Singh Chaddha," helmed by Advait Chandan, is a hindi adaption of the 1994 hollywood production "Forrest Gump," starring Khan with Kareena Kapoor, naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh. The film was met with criticism and calls for a boycott despite its muted OTT release, which were partially sparked by the controversy over Khan's previous remarks. Although the concept of a discreet release was different from conventional advertising methods, Rao is nevertheless grateful for the audience's reaction.
 
Amidst her hectic schedule for the film's marketing, kiran rao spoke with Connect FM canada on her close relationship with Aamir Khan. In 2021, kiran rao and aamir khan declared their divorce. kiran told Connect FM canada, "It came naturally to us because we started off working together, and even after we became partners, we continued working together." kiran was highlighting their relationship's transcendence beyond marriage duties.
