Respected expert custodian and evangelist of tourism in South Asia, G.B. Srithar, has joined VFS Global as Head of Tourism Services. VFS Global is an outsourcing and technology services company for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide.
Srithar announced the news of his appointment via a LinkedIn post. In his post, he shared, “Happy to be joining VFS, a prestigious brand and global leader in its field, to support its client governments by offering specialized services in Travel, Trade, and Tourism Services. This support will add value and enable these governments to achieve their strategic goals of boosting tourism and trade in their respective countries.”
“After serving more than two and a half decades with a great organization like the Singapore Tourism Board, I am humbled and grateful to continue being part of the travel, tourism, and trade landscape,” Srithar added.
Srithar joined the Singapore Tourism Board in October 1997 and dedicated more than 26 years to the firm. He joined the company as a Human Resources Specialist and, through his more than two-decade-long journey, rose to the rank of Regional Director for India, Middle East and South Asia.
In this role, he oversaw the STB’s regional marketing, brand strategy & consumer outreach campaigns, tourism development, and trade partnership work in India, the Middle East, and South Asia. This included leisure marketing, MICE, cruise, and overseas school trip promotions.
