Letter: Thank you, come on and wow!
Since the beginning of winter, I have been the proud recipient of Plantar Fasciitis. Don’t Google it, it is a foot thing, and believe you me, it sucks. So, today, I would like to reach out to all of the bus drivers on the in-town route in Vail. You people are amazing! They see me hobbling, grunting and in pain, moving to the front of the bus and what do they do? Take some air out of the tires to make that first step a little smaller! You guys are my heroes!
I also need to know how Vail trains their drivers. I can’t tell you how many times a child will dart in front of the bus, or a couple is walking hand-in-hand not realizing that, yes, they are on a road and can get run over. The drivers patiently ring a little bell saying, “Hi, I’m just a small bus, and would like to get by you now,” instead of their airhorns.
I think to help these heroes along, we need to install squirt guns on the side and front of the bus, so locals who just want to get home can urge people out of the way with a nice squirt of freezing water. Come on, just get out of the way.
Finally, wow, I took my niece and nephew out for dinner at Juniper in Edwards on Friday night. The food was great as always, but damn, whatever they are doing to retain/train/and make their employees happy, keep it up. I want to say it was the best service I have had in the last 10 years up here — if not ever! Thank you for making their visit amazing!
