Senthilbalaji’s resignation is a victory for BJP: Annamalai


Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K Annamalai declared victory for the party after the resignation of Senthilbalaji from the Council of Ministers. Annamalai addressed reporters during the inauguration of the BJP election office in the Tondiarpet area of the Chennai (North) Lok Sabha constituency, expressing confidence in the BJP’s growing influence in the region.”Senthilbalaji, who faced arrest in a corruption case, served as a Minister without portfolio for the past eight months. His resignation confirms our belief in his corruption,” stated Annamalai, emphasizing the significance of Senthilbalaji’s departure from the Council of Ministers as a win for the BJP.Annamalai highlighted the BJP’s optimistic outlook, citing the party’s remarkable growth in North Chennai and projecting victory in the upcoming Parliamentary elections for the Chennai (North) Lok Sabha seat.In a critical appraisal of TNLA Speaker M Appavu, Annamalai criticized the Speaker’s conduct, likening it to that of a subordinate. He pointed out discrepancies in the Governor’s Address, accusing the Speaker of failing to maintain impartiality by skipping parts of the speech. Annamalai underscored the Speaker’s responsibility to uphold decorum and lamented his departure from the expected standards of neutrality.Furthermore, Annamalai emphasised the BJP’s commitment to Tamil Nadu’s cultural heritage, pledging to prioritize the state anthem, “Tamil Thai Vazhthu,” over the National Anthem at the commencement and conclusion of Assembly proceedings if the BJP assumes power in Tamil Nadu. @@@
