WATERTOWN – Faun Lin Chiu, 89, passed away at Apple Rehab on Feb 7, 2024, after an extended illness.
She was born in Nanking, China. After World War II, she moved to Taiwan, where she completed a B.A. degree at the National Taiwan University.
She later studied library science and obtained a M.A. degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1961. She worked in for the Mount Vernon Public Library in New York, and later the Philadelphia Free Library.
After moving to Watertown in 1980, she had worked as a part-time catalog librarian in Southbury and Waterbury.
She is survived by her sister Chi Ling; brother Fu-chung Lin; her husband of 59 years, Yih Ping Chiu; her son George, daughter Jeannie and husband Jim Morehead; and grandsons Stevie and Eric.
