Sport Ireland has no jurisdiction to introduce drug testing in schools’ rugby according to its Chief Executive Dr Úna May.
But though it is not Sport Ireland’s policy to target underage athletes they would be willing to support the introduction of a testing programme if they were requested to do by the schools’ rugby associations.
