Valley fog, afternoon sunshine

Cascades Winter Storm Watch Wednesday & Thursday

PORTLAND, Oregon — A Fog Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m. this morning for the valley and southwest Washington. Temperatures are freezing in spots with frosty fog reported.  Look for developing sunshine with afternoon highs warming into the 50s. 

Clouds increase tonight ahead of a Wednesday, Thursday storm.   East winds will pick up and become gusty out of the gorge 15-40 mph. The valleys will see 2 days of rainy weather with rain totals possibly exceeding 1/2 inch.  Snow in the Cascades will be heavy with a foot or more expected at Mt. Hood resorts and likely snow down to 3,000 feet. 

Also on watch is the Gorge where cold highs in the 30s Wednesday will lead to a rain, snow mix and all snow Wednesday night into Thursday morning.  

Friday brings a dry break, followed by showery weather this weekend with sunshine at times.
