WRAL Weather Alert Day: Tuesday brings winds up to 45 mph, power outages possible
The first half of Tuesday is a WRAL Weather Alert Day due to the possibility of damaging winds.

A wind advisory in effect for much of the state expires Tuesday at noon. Wind gusts up to 45 mph will be possible Tuesday morning, which could lead to wind damage and isolated power outages.
Overnight rain was moving away Tuesday morning, and the rest of the day looks dry and partly cloudy. Wind gusts should start to die down after 1 p.m.
"Last night's showers move out and skies will be clearing. It remains breezy through the afternoon with mostly sunny skies and temperatures holding in the mid 50s to low 60s," said Elizabeth Gardner.

Wednesday evening will be chilly, however, with lows dropping into the 30s.

Thursday and Friday will be mild and dry, with highs in the low to mid 60s.
The next best chance for rain is late Friday into Saturday thanks to a front and low pressure system. Saturday and Sunday will be cooler, with highs in the 50s.
Of the two weekend days, Sunday will be drier than Saturday.
