Steamboat Resort plans to extend the 2023-24 ski season until April 21.
The resort announced its new closing on Facebook on Monday in a post saying, “Hold onto your helmets — we’ve hit the snooze button on closing day! Now skiing and riding until April 21.”
The announcement came with the resort reporting 250 inches of snow this season as of Monday.
Last year, Steamboat Resort also extended its ski season and, after an exceptionally snowy winter, which saw 400 inches, closed on April 16, giving skiers and riders an extra week.
Prior to winter 2022-23, the last time Steamboat had extended its season by a week or more was in 1993.
