New concert information came out on Tuesday with news that Robert Plant and Allison Krauss are hitting the road for another unforgettable musical journey this summer. This electric duo will take the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater stage together for the “Can’t Let Go” 2024 tour with special guest JD McPherson on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.
McPherson will reprise his role from the “Raise The Roof” tour, performing as both the opening act and as lead guitarist for Plant and Krauss. The rest of the band will be made up of bassist Dennis Crouch, drummer Jay Bellerose, string player Stuart Duncan and Viktor Krauss on keyboards and guitar.
This is part of The Amp Summer Concert Series, co-presented by the Vail Valley Foundation and AEG Presents. Plant, the legendary frontman of Led Zeppelin, has repeatedly teamed up with Krauss, a fellow multiple Grammy-award-winning artist, and their albums and tours bring out huge crowds to hear the duo together in a live setting. Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters played at The Amp in June of 2018.

Umphrey’s McGee will also perform at The Amp on June 14 at 6:30 p.m. This eclectic improv-rock band’s sound has been an amalgamation of genres, moods and tempos, effortlessly flowing from one feeling to the next throughout an album or concert — or sometimes within a singular song. Umphrey’s McGee only has two shows in Colorado this summer. The day after the show in Vail, the band travels to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison.
