Possible snow, heavy rain cause closures, delays across D.C. region

A burst of snow forecast early Tuesday prompted some school districts across the region to announce closings and delayed starts. Winter weather advisories have been issued for northern Fauquier, Loudoun, northern Montgomery, Howard, Frederick and Carroll counties from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The Capital Weather Gang forecasts that a departing storm will leave behind wet snow Tuesday morning before departing in the afternoon, trailed by lots of wind.
