Ah, the celebrity PDA (public display of affection). It comes around and captivates us for a while, then lies low before returning with a bang.

Circa 2021/22 there was a surge in PDAs. Back then the subtext appeared to be hyper sexual: we had Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly attempting to swallow each other’s faces, and talking about drinking blood and having sex on tables in AirBnB rentals; we had Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker licking each other’s tongues on the red carpet (although she later claimed there were very practical reasons for this — “I don’t wanna get lipstick all over him and I don’t wanna ruin my lipstick,” she said.)
