Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Deals: Up to $1,000 in Trade-In Credit and Up to $300 in Direct Discounts
If you've been wanting to buy a foldable phone, or upgrade from a previous one, these deals on the Z Fold 5 will save you quite a bit.
Samsung has been leading the market with foldable phones, the latest and greatest being the Samsung Z Fold 5. It has a nice big screen that almost gives you a tablet experience, and the fact you can fold it means that it can essentially be used as two separate screens. You could even hook up a Bluetooth keyboard to it and get some work done, so it's a versatile device. Unfortunately, it's also pricey, so we've scoured all the big retailers and carriers to find you a few good deals that will save you some cash.
What colors does the Galaxy Z Fold 5 come in?
There are three main colors for the new Galaxy Z Fold 5: phantom black, cream and icy blue. There are also two exclusive colors -- gray and blue -- that are only available if you order through Samsung directly.

Best Galaxy Z Fold 5 deals
Not only are there exclusive colors offered when you buy directly from Samsung, there are some instant trade-in deals that bring the price of the Z Fold 5 down in a hurry. First of all, right now the 256GB and 512GB models get an instant savings of $200, and the 1TB is $200 less than the regular retail price.
On top of that, you can get up to $800 in instant trade-in credit. The latest Apple and Samsung phones will net you the most credit. If you're trading the ZFold 4 in and it's in good condition, you'll likely save around $600, but even old and damaged phones will still net you a minimum discount of $300. Samsung also accepts select tablets and smartwatches for trade-in for a smaller discount.
Samsung offers a 30% discount to students, educators, first responders and US government employees.
If you opt for the 512GB model in phantom black you'll save $300 off the regular price. At present, none of the other configurations are discounted. Amazon also has its own trade-in program where you can save up to $401 by trading in a qualifying device. You'll get the savings in the form of an Amazon.com gift card credit.
Of note: Amazon is not carrying any of the 1TB models right now.
Best Buy has the unlocked 512GB model in phantom black on sale for $1,728, a $192 discount. Plus, you can save even more with Best Buy's trade-in program: Up to $450 in exchange for your old phone -- with the latest iPhones netting you the biggest discount. There's no discount for Verizon customers, but they will get enhanced trade-in credit of up to $1,000. Again, only the phantom black variant of the 256GB model is available.
AT&T is offering up to $1,000 off the Z Fold 5 with an eligible trade-in, plus a free Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 Plus 5G tablet. You'll need to purchase the phone on a qualifying installment plan. You'll get the full discount for any phone valued at just $95 or more, and even old and damaged devices valued at just $35 will still net you $800 in trade-in credit. The discount is applied as bill credits over 36 months and drops the price for the Z Fold 5 to just $22.23 per month.
Right now you can also get 50% off select Samsung accessories -- including Galaxy Buds, cases, chargers and more -- when you buy a connected Samsung device.
Verizon customers adding a new line of service can save up to $1,000 with an eligible trade-in. Or, if you're an existing customer who qualifies for an upgrade, you can still save up to $800 with just a trade-in.
Verizon is also offering a $350 promo credit for a Galaxy Watch 6 when purchased at the same time as the Z Fold 5. You can also get up to $550 in promo credit if you add a Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G to your bundle, but you'll need a new line of service for the tablet.
T-Mobile is the only carrier out there at the moment offering a discount on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 that doesn't require a trade-in. You can save up to $1,000 in bill credits when adding a new line of service on a Go5G Next or Go5G Plus plan or $600 when adding a new line on another qualifying service plan. If you do have an old phone to trade in, you can save up to $1,000 if you already have or switch to a Go5G Next or Plus plan, $500 with a Magenta rate plan, and up to $200 if you're on another qualifying service plan.
T-Mobile is carrying the 256GB model only, but both colors (phantom black and icy blue) are in stock.
Right now Walmart has the 256GB Z Fold 5 in phantom black on sale for $1,530, a $270 savings. As always with Walmart, the deals can be fleeting so take advantage of this while you can, as it's the largest straightforward discount available right now for an unlocked phone with no trade-in required.
