uthorities have recovered the body of a man who fell from a barge and into the water at an area shipyard Saturday.
The identity of victim, who is from Honduras, has not been released.
He was working at a shipyard in Bayou Boeuf about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when he fell onto the lower portion of the barge, sustaining head injuries and falling into the water.
The search for his body would involve the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The body was recovered about 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The investigation of the fatality is still underway.
