Aurora police arrested a man Sunday in connection to the fatal Friday shooting of a woman near the University of Colorado Hospital.

Officers about 8 p.m. Friday responded to a call of a shooting in the 1700 block of Paris Street, where they found a woman inside a house with a gunshot wound, according to a news release.

The woman died at the scene.

Aurora police’s Major Crime Homicide Unit determined Kelynn Lewis, 32, as a suspect in the shooting and arrested him Sunday morning on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to the news release.
