Derby City Gaming general manager Bridget Harmon says they have been busy all weekend long with people placing bets on Sunday's game. It's a trend they have been seeing since sports betting became legal.
"Luckily, we've seen such great success with Sports Book we've added six more kiosks now that can help take those bets, especially with basketball season," Harmon said.
Not only do they have 21 kiosks and two in-person windows for fans to place bets, but they also have several massive screens where fans can order a drink and cheer on their team. It's helped Derby City Gaming become a destination not only to place bets on games but also to watch them.
"That's one of the nice things about sports is it brings so many different people together, and for us, it's like a whole new crowd introduced to this property and getting people to hang out and cheer on their favorite team and watch their favorite commercials. So it's been a really great way to bring people together as well," Harmon said.
Bobby Sizemore made the drive from Clarksville to place his bets and watch the game.
"It's great to watch the game here. You can see the big screen. It's awesome," Sizemore said.
Since his beloved Cincinnati Bengals didn't make it this year, he hoped to bring his friend some winnings by betting against his team.
"He's a Kansas City Chiefs fan — diehard. So I'm betting on the 49ers because I'm bad luck. So, hopefully, he'll win. I hope he does," Sizemore said.
Chico Coury put his money on the Kansas City Chiefs but came for the good time.
"It's just fun. It's a block away from me and all my friends come here. So it's a get-together," Coury said.
