Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.26% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 6.21 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.99 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.18 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 1.06 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.82 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.36 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.26 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.26 per cent at 18664.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 94.16 points at 21688.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 281.51 points at 71313.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Keynote Financial, Orient Press, Grasim Inds.(PP), Tree House Edu and TRF Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Nahar Poly Film, Flair Writing Indust, Shri Ram Switchgears, Digidrive Distributo and Mask Investments hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
