BALLET ARKANSAS: ‘SWAN LAKE’
FRIDAY 2/16-SUNDAY 2/18. Robinson Center. 2:30 p.m AND 7:30 p.m. Sat.; 2:30 P.M. Sun. $25-$75.

Even if you’re not a regular ballet patron, there’s a pretty good chance you’re already familiar with “Swan Lake,” the Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky-scored production around which Natalie Portman’s character in the film “Black Swan” (2010) descends into madness. One thing you might not remember from its hallucinatory representation on screen: “Swan Lake” is a love story between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a woman who’s been turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer, except for at nightime, when she temporarily returns to her human form. The only remedy: true love, of course. Like “Black Swan,” though, the tale isn’t without a hearty helping of darkness as Odile — the sorcerer’s daughter and an indistinguishable doppelganger for Odette — slyly competes for the affection of Siegfried. Prepare yourself for a devastating ending. Get tickets here.
