VIOLENCE PLAGUING OUR CITY. PEOPLE I SPOKE TO SAY THEY’RE ON EDGE AFTER POLICE RESPONDED TO TWO SEPARATE SHOOTINGS EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AND AS OFFICERS CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE, NEIGHBORS ARE WONDERING WHAT CAN BE DONE TO STOP THE VIOLENCE. I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE SITUATION WAS, BUT NOBODY SHOULD HAVE HAD TO DIE. NOT FAR FROM DOMINIQUE BEATTY’S HOME, A MAN WAS FOUND DEAD IN A CAR NEAR THE 7400 BLOCK OF EGYPT LANE. POLICE SAY THEY WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AROUND 115 ON SUNDAY MORNING. 27 YEAR OLD RONALD HALL HAD BEEN SHOT AND KILLED. BEATTY SAYS SHE KNOWS ALL TOO WELL THE PAIN OF LOSING A LOVED ONE TO SOON. I’VE LOST THREE FAMILY MEMBERS TO GUN VIOLENCE, SENSELESS GUN VIOLENCE AND IT’S GETTING RIDICULOUS. THEN, HOURS LATER, ANOTHER SHOOTING, THIS TIME NEAR THE 2500 BLOCK OF WEST BROADWAY. AROUND FOUR IN THE MORNING, 37 YEAR OLD RONALD BEATTY HAD BEEN SHOT AND KILLED. TOYA NEAL SAYS SHE WAS OUT AT A NEARBY BAR WHEN SHE HEARD THE SHOTS RING OUT. WHEN YOU CAN HEAR SHOTS OVER A MUSIC AND YOU’RE STANDING UNDERNEATH THE SPEAKER, IT’S TERRIFYING AND SHE SAYS WHEN SHE WALKED OUTSIDE, SHE SAW PEOPLE AT THE SCENE TRYING TO SAVE BEATTY’S LIFE BEFORE PARAMEDICS ARRIVED. IT WAS SCARY SEEING A MAN LITERALLY LAYING THERE FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE. IT DEFINITELY WAS SCARY. BUT THEY’RE HOPEFUL SOLUTIONS CAN BE FOUND TO PREVENT MORE LIVES FROM BEING SHATTERED BY GUN VIOLENCE. IT’S IT’S VERY DISTURBING. IT MAKES YOU NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING BUT WHO I AM AND HOW I MOVE. AND OPERATE. IT DOESN’T STOP ME. Neighbors on edge as police investigate two deadly shootings in Louisville

LMPD responded to two separate shootings on Sunday morning within hours of each other. As officers continue to investigate, neighbors are wondering what can be done to stop the violence.“I don't know what the situation was, but nobody should have had to die,” said Dominique Beatty.Not far from Dominique Beatty’s home, a man was found dead in a car near the 7400 block of Egypt Lane. Police say they were called to the scene around 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning. Twenty-seven-year-old Ronald Hall had been shot and killed. Beatty says she knows all too well the pain of losing a loved one too soon.“I've lost three family members to gun violence, senseless gun violence, and it's getting ridiculous. Like, I'm even scared to even go to the grocery store sometimes,” Beatty said.Then, hours later, there was another shooting. This time, police were called near the 2500 block of West Broadway around 4 a.m. Thirty-seven-year-old Ronald Batey had been shot and killed. Toyia Neal says she was at a nearby bar when she heard the shots ring out.“When you hear shots over music and you're standing by the speaker, it is terrifying,” Neal said.She says when she walked outside, she saw people at the scene trying to save Batey’s life before paramedics arrived.“It was scary seeing a man literally lying there fighting for his life.
