Single-window nod for Pernem theme park through special panel

States constitues 15-member committee under Chief Secretary

Panaji: The industries department has constituted a 15 member planning, development and construction committee chaired by the Chief Secretary for granting single-window clearance to Pune based  M/s Bramha Corp to establish a theme park and garden in Pernem. 

The committee can exercise all powers, such as, control or construction of the building, and all other powers conferred on it by the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021. 

The committee has officials of various departments including the Chief Town Planner of the Town and Country Planning, the director of health services, industries , trade and commerce, fire and emergencies, factories and boilers, Principal Chief Engineer of Public Works department, Chief Electrical Engineer of Electricity, member secretary of Goa State Pollution Control Board and Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, Collectors of both the districts  as members and chief executive officer of Goa Investment and Promotion Facilitation Board as member secretary.

Pune Bramha Corp intends to set up the mini-India theme park on 97,224 sqm of private land next to the Manohar International Airport, Mopa.

According to sources, the concept of this project shall have various states representing its culture, cuisine, etc. In the proposed park, miniature replicas of India’s historical and cultural landmarks will be on display which will be made out of eco-friendly material, and of varying sizes. There will be around 80 popular monuments which will be made from eco-friendly material, in miniature form, like Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Charminar, India Gate, Turkish Gate, Gateway of India, Jama Masjid, Golden Temple, Humayun Tomb, Basilica of Bom Jesus Church, etc.

As per the plan, the theme park will be a major attraction for both foreign and domestic tourists. The project anticipates at least three lakh visitors every year, with the project taking 18 months to finish. The project is environmental friendly and will employ approximately 185 people in Goa, including security employees, housekeeping workers, maintenance personnel, artists and performers, kitchen personnel, water sports professionals, site/corporate office personnel to oversee the project.
