Howelsen Ice Arena announces two community skate events in March
Howelsen Ice Arena will host two community skate night events in March on its Olympic-sized ice sheet.
The Pride Skate, hosted in partnership with Queer Futures, will run from 6:30-8 p.m. March 2. Colorful costumes are encouraged and skaters of all ages are welcome.
Integrated Communities will then host the Fiesta On Ice from 6:30-8 p.m. March 15. Members of the Steamboat Springs Police Department and other organizations will be present to share information about parks, pet licenses and other community topics.
Ice admission and skate rentals are free at both events and pizza and drinks will be served.
“We strive to ensure the Howelsen Ice Arena is a safe space for everyone in the community,” said Howelsen Ice Arena Supervisor Dmitry Chase, in a news release. “Partnering with community groups like Queer Futures and Integrated Communities allows us to showcase the rink, its affordability and the benefits of this unique facility to the entire community.”
