    Glenn Maxwell has equaled Rohit Sharma in terms of most centuries in T20I cricket. The Australian all-rounder slammed his fifth hundred in the format in the second T20I against West Indies in Adelaide. Maxwell was at his destructive best as he hammered an unbeaten 120 off 55 balls (12 fours, 8 sixes). En route, he also raced past 9,500 runs in T20 cricket.

    Australia were off to a fine start as Maxwell arrived with the scorecard reading 57/2. He went after the bowlers straightaway as the scoring rate remained over 10. The dasher was involved in an 82-run stand with Marcus Stoinis (16) before the latter departed. Maxwell then joined forces with Tim David (31*) as the duo powered Australia to 241/4. They added 95 runs.

    Maxwell equals Rohit 

    As mentioned, Maxwell now owns the joint-most tons in T20I cricket (5). He equaled Rohit. Overall, he has raced to 2,405 runs in 102 T20Is at an average and strike rate of 30.83, and 155.26, respectively. The tally also includes 10 fifties. Only Aaron Finch (3,120) and David Warner (2,986) have hammered more T20I runs among Aussie players.

    Highest T20I strike rate for Australia 

    Maxwell's strike rate of 155.26 is the highest for Australia in T20I cricket (Minimum: 1,000 runs). Notably, no other Australian strikes at over 150 in the shortest format. Overall, Suryakumar Yadav of India leads this tally with a strike rate of 171.55.

    Maxwell joins these legends 

    Notably, Maxwell became the third Australian player to touch the 9,500-run mark in T20s (9,588). He is only behind Warner (11,952 and Finch (11,458). Maxwell reached this mark in his 418th T20 appearance. He has seven tons and 52 half-centuries in T20s. Maxwell has a strike rate of 153.82 (473 sixes) and owns 154 wickets in the format.

    Maiden 50-plus score vs WI 

    This was the first time Maxwell recorded a 50-plus score against WI in T20I cricket. He has now raced to 176 runs across seven games against them at a strike rate of 191.30. At home, he now owns 912 T20I runs, striking at 154.31. Meanwhile, Maxwell's other T20I tons have come against England, Sri Lanka, and India (2).
