Louisville bakeries have been busy with Super Bowl 2024 falling on the Sunday before Valentine's Day and Fat Tuesday.Many shops have added additional staff to help keep up with the high demand for baked goods.Heitzman Bakery, on Bardstown Road, has baked up its yearly Super Bowl sugar cookies.The owner says he got creative making his first Super Bowl King Cake to celebrate Fat Tuesday as well."King Cake season has become our biggest holiday of the year," said Heitzman Bakery's owner Tony Osting. "It's sandwiched between the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day. So, it makes it a challenge to address all three in the same week, especially in pretty much, three consecutive days."According to Osting, while king cakes have been a hot item many customers say they will still come in Tuesday for the traditional king cake.Heitzman's Bakery says they are on track to sell about 3,000 king cakes.
