The city of Aspen brought back a “re-imagined” favorite from the 1980s with the debut of the Art Cart Alpine Rally on Saturday. Held on the sledding hill behind the Aspen Recreation Center, it was meant to pay homage to the Art Cart Derby of old. While that was held in the summer, the new version came with an Aspen winter twist by being held on snow.

A handful of contestants raced against each other or against the clock in a competition that was mostly about the fun. There were both adult and kids divisions.
