Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena’s MLA Santosh Bangar asked school children not to eat if their parents don’t vote for him in the upcoming elections. Following the Bangar’s bizarre remarks, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar demanded action by the Election Commission against him.

The statement made by Bangar sparked controversies, raising questions over the state’s education system. The Congress leader asked if the state education minister was sleeping when Bangar made such remarks.

During his visit to a Zilla Parishad school in the Hingoli district, he interacted with the children and remarked to children in Marathi, saying don’t eat for two days if your parents don’t vote for me in the next election. The video has been widely shared by users on social media platforms.

Then, Bangar had the children repeat a statement they would say to their parents about their voting preferences in the next elections.

Addressing students of Zilla Parishad school, Bangar instructed the kids to respond to their parents’ inquiries about not eating with the statement, “We will eat only if you vote for Santosh Bangar.”

The Shiv Sena MLA’s comments, which were made less than a week after the Election Commission’s strict guidelines against using children in poll-related activities, have caused concern. The Election Commission has banned the use of children in political campaigns to win votes, as it violates certain provisions of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986.

Bangar’s past is marked by his controversial remarks and actions, which have sparked considerable controversy. He claimed that he would commit suicide if Narendra Modi didn’t become Prime Minister again after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

A spokesperson for the NCP-SP, Clyde Crasto, has stated that what Bangar told the school children violates the directive issued by the Election Commission. As a repeat offender, strict action should be taken against him. However, he is an ally of the BJP and often escapes punishment. The Commission must take action against him without any bias.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who was removed from the Congress on Sturday for his anti-party remarks for six years and days after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said today that there can be no compromise.

A day after his expulsion from Congress, Acharya Pramod tagged Rahul Gandhi on X, and said, there cannot be a compromise over Ram and Rashtra (nation).

Meanwhile, in a statement released by Congress general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal it was mentioned that Congress president has approved the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee’s proposal to expel Shri Pramod Krishnam for six years with immediate effect, in view of complaints about indiscipline and repeatedly making statement against the party.

Krishnam met with Prime Minister Modi earlier this month, inviting him to the February 19 foundation stone-laying ceremony at Shri Kalki Dham.

In a post on X he expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the honourable prime minister for accepting this.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the invitation and said that it was a privilege for him to be a part of this sacred occasion associated with faith and devotion.

Last month, Krishnam called the opposition leaders unfortunate for their decision to skip the January 22nd Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Not even a Muslim, a priest, or a Christian can turn down Lord Ram’s invitation. India’s soul belongs to Ram. India cannot even be envisaged without Ram, said Acharya Pramod at the time.

Recently, Krishnam has been questioning several of the party leadership’s choices. Earlier last week, he claimed that the opposition INDIA bloc no longer actually existed. According to him, the bloc was placed on a ventilator after it immediately contracted a lot of diseases right after its birth.

He recently made fun of the dates of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is being led by Rahul Gandhi, claiming that while other political parties are preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it appears like Congress is getting ready for the 2029 elections.
