Fine Gael junior minister Josepha Madigan has apologised for using Department of Education stationery to campaign for a European election nomination and admitted she should not have recorded a campaign video in Leinster House.

Ms Madigan said that “on reflection” no video should have been recorded in the Houses of the Oireachtas precinct where there is a long-standing convention that it should not be used for electioneering purposes.
