SOME STUDENTS AT MCKEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ARE IN THEIR LOVER ERA GETTING VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, BUT NEVER IN THEIR WILDEST DREAMS DID THEY EXPECT TO GET A CARD FROM A GLOBAL SUPERSTAR. I DIDN’T THINK WE WOULD LIKE, GET A CARD FROM LIKE A CELEBRITY. YEAH, SO IT WAS JUST VERY SHOCKING. REPORTER. DOZENS OF VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS COMING INTO GINA GREER’S FOURTH GRADE READING CLASSROOM EVERY SINGLE DAY. I LOST COUNT AT 350. SHE PUT A POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA ASKING PEOPLE TO SEND HER STUDENTS VALENTINE’S DAY CARDS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY, WITH THE GOAL TO COLLECT A CARD FROM EACH OF THE 50 STATES AS AN INTERACTIVE CLASS PROJECT. THE RESPONSE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. IT’S LIKE A LOT OF CARDS THAT WE GET, LIKE EVERY DAY, VERY, VERY EXCITING BECAUSE WE CAN LIKE READ CARD FROM PEOPLE AND OTHER STATES AND LIKE HEAR HOW IT’S LIKE LIVING THERE AS CARDS WERE DELIVERED THIS WEEK, GREER FOUND A GORGEOUS VALENTINE ADDRESSED TO ONE OF HER STUDENTS, WHO IS A MASSIVE TAYLOR SWIFT FAN SIGNED BY MISS AMERICANA HERSELF. I THOUGHT SOMEBODY WAS MESSING WITH WITH US. UM, I MESSAGED MULTIPLE PEOPLE BECAUSE I THOUGHT, OH, MAYBE THEY’RE JUST SENDING IT TO MAKE HER DAY. BUT EVERYBODY WAS CONFUSED, HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. SO I SAID, OKAY, YOUR STUDENT JUST GOT A VALENTINE FROM THE TAYLOR SWIFT. NOW, YOU MAY BE THINKING, HOW DO WE ACTUALLY KNOW IT’S TAYLOR SWIFT? WELL, GREER DID SOME INVESTIGATING HERSELF TO CONFIRM HER SUSPICIONS. ME AND MY CO-TEACHER, WE DID NOT EAT THAT DAY. WE DID OUR RESEARCH. WE LOOKED IT UP. WE LOOKED UP THE AUTOGRAPH, EVERYTHING WAS AUTHENTIC. THE STUDENTS ENCHANTED BY THE FACT THEY GOT A CARD POSTMARKED FROM TENNESSEE, FROM SWIFT. AND I WAS VERY, VERY EXCITED BECAUSE I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT. WHILE RECEIVING THAT CARD WAS MAGICAL FOR THE STUDENTS AND WHETHER IT WAS FROM THE REAL TAYLOR OR NOT IS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE. BUT SPARKS FLY EVERY TIME A CARD COMES IN FROM A NEW LOCATION. IT’S REALLY EXCITING AND IT’S STILL NICE TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE MANY NICE PEOPLE OUT THERE IN THE WORLD WHO ARE THINKING OF US. MISS GREER’S CLASS ONLY NEEDS RHODE ISLAND’S. "I thought somebody was messing with us. I messaged multiple people because I thought, oh, maybe they're just sending it to make her day. But everybody was confused, had no idea what I was talking about. So I said, OK, your student just got a valentine from the Taylor Swift," Greer said.Now, you may be thinking, how do we know it's actually from Taylor Swift? Greer said she did some investigating to confirm her suspicions."We did our research. We looked it up. We looked up the autograph.
