Imtiaz Ali’s romantic comedy film, Jab We Met, which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor is all set to re-release in theaters around Valentine’s Day.

Kareena Kapoor Khan posted an edited version of her one of the most iconic film, Jab We Met, on Instagram today announcing the re-release of the film. This film gave her the most cherished roles of her career. The actor played the role a bubbly Punjabi girl, Geet. 

Sharing the video, Kareena channelized her inner Geet and captioned the video in same style, saying, “Never gets old… by god and added a black heart emoji, #ValentinesFilmFestival.” In the video, some of the most famous and hilarious dialogues from the film can be seen.

From February 9 to February 15, the country’s theatres will screen a number of romantic films, including Jab We Met, as part of the Valentine’s Film Festival.

The film Jab We Met, which features Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Dara Singh, Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and Pavan Malhotra, was written and directed by Imtiaz Ali. When the movie came out in 2007, it was a huge box office and critical hit. Specifically, Kareena’s portrayal of Geet has influenced many people, especially teenaged girls.

Meanwhile, Kareena last appeared in the suspense-thriller film Jaane Jaan, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Based on the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X, the movie featured Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma in supporting roles. This film also marked Kareena’s debut into the digital space. Jaane Jaan received the positive reviews from critics as well as audiences.

The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta, is Kareena’s next film and her first production. The movie earned positive reviews after it was screened at the MAMI Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival. In addition, she will be also seen in The Crew alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon.

Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon strrer film which is released in Valentine’s week is said to have a slow start on box office. The film on its first Friday collected Rs 6.7 crore nett in India, a report said.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 14.92% on Friday, according to the portal. 8.8% of the morning shows were occupied, compared to 11.79% for the afternoon shows. The occupancy rates for the night shows and evening shows were 13.62% and 25.46%, respectively.

The film investigates an unbelievable romantic story set in the uncharted realm of artificial intelligence (AI). Shahid Kapoor portrays a robot scientist in the movie who eventually falls in love and weds Kriti Sanon’s Sifra, a superintelligent female robot.

The film is written and directed by Aradhana Sah and Amit Joshi. It’s been produced by Laxman Utekar, Jyoti Deshpande, and Dinesh Vijan. 

Meanwhile, one of Shahid’s most commercially successful films was Kabir Singh and Jersey. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film’s director, earned Rs 377 crore. Shahid last appeared in the hugely popular web series Farzi, which was helmed by Raj & DK. While, there aren’t many financially successful solo heroine-centric films that Sanon has starred in so far. Bareilly Ki Barfi gave her a box office collection of Rs 58.62 and Luka Chupp earned Rs 125 crore.

This film marks the first joint project of Shahid Kapoor and Kriti. Furthermore, it also marks Shahid and Kriti’s first collaboration with the legendary actor  Dharmendra.

Talking about the working experience working alongside the seasoned actor, Shahid Kapoor said at a press conference that to share screen space with him is an honour. He exudes charm and is incredibly loving, the Vivaah actor said. There’s affection in his hug every time he sees you. Shahid also revealed that Dhramendra is playing his grandfather in the movie, and they have a lot of scenes together.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya was released in the theater across the globe on February 9.

Actor Mithun Chakraborty, who complained of chest trouble on Saturday morning, was admitted to Apollo Hospital’s emergency unit in Kolkata.

The actor was brought to a private hospital after it was reported by reliable sources that he was experiencing discomfort. The actor is now going through medical treatment, the sources said.

Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty was recently honored with the esteemed Padma Bhushan Award.

Following the news, the actor turned politician released a video in Bengali in which he said, he is happy to have received this award, and he is proud. He thanked his fans for their love and support, which they have been showering on him over the years. Chakraborty also said, he never asked anyone for anything in return. Expressing his feelings he also said, he felt like he got something without asking for it. It’s a different feeling altogether, he added.

Chakraborty lost his mother, Santirani Chakraborty, in 2023 after suffering from geriatric issues for quite some time. His mother took last breath in Mumbai. While, his father, Basantokumar Chakraborty, passed away in April 2020, at the age of 95 due to kidney failure.\

On work front, the Mithun Chakraborty was last seen in a dance reality show, Dance Bangla Dance, as a judge, alongside Mouni Roy, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, and Puja Banerjee.

He became popular in the 1980s and 90s thanks to his endearing roles in drama, action, and dance-oriented films. In 1982, Chakaraborty’s one of the most iconic film Disco Dancer was released and because of his prominent dance style and moves the actor earned the same nickname, and till the date he is known as Disco Dancer. 

The actor dabbled in politics as well, including a short term as a Member of Parliament. Ahead of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly election in 2021, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in March of that year.
