Edwards skier River Radamus led Team USA with a 12th-place finish in Saturday’s World Cup giant slalom in Bansko, Bulgaria. The 25-year-old had the eighth-best first run and finished with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 17.91 seconds.
“Solid team effort all around,” Radamus said via U.S. Ski and Snowboard media’s Sierra Ryder.
“I am moderately satisfied with my 12th place, but I know I have a lot more to give especially second run. But I will reset for the next one.”
Marco Odermatt (2:15.75) won his 10th race of the season as Norwegian Alexander Steen Olsen (2:16.66) and Manuel Feller (2:16.83) rounded out the podium. Tommy Ford and George Steffey placed 26th and 28th, respectively, for the U.S.
“Second run it got a little slushy,” Radamus said. “So to be successful today you had to be adaptable and ski lots of different conditions well.”

Radamus is coming off a hot January. He recorded his best finish of the year — a fourth-place GS in Adelboden on Jan. 6 — and finished the month with two top-20 (17th and eighth-place) super-G results in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The recent streak has improved his overall placement in the GS standings to 12th. Radamus was 20th in the discipline last year and finished a career-best 15th in 2022. He is also currently sitting 34th in the overall standings, 23 places better than his previous best, also in 2022.
Radamus said the “dry and grippy” conditions on Saturday were a “good warm-up for Palisades.”
The men’s World Cup continues with a slalom in Bansko on Sunday before heading to Norway for a speed weekend on Feb. 15-18. Radamus will race on home soil at Palisades Tahoe in California on Feb. 24-25 and in Aspen on March 1-3.
