ORLANDO, Fla. — Magic forward Paolo Banchero is going to have a full schedule on NBA All-Star Weekend on Feb. 16-18 in Indianapolis.

The NBA announced Thursday that Banchero will compete as part of an all-No. 1 NBA Draft pick group in the Skills Challenge on All-Star Saturday night, Feb 17 — Team Top Picks. San Antonio Spurs center/forward Victor Wembenyama, the 2023 top pick, and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, the No. 1 selection in 2020, also will be part of the team. Banchero was chosen No. 1 overall by Orlando in 2022.

Banchero and his teammates will take on Team Pacers and Team All-Stars. Indianapolis is the host city for the 2024 All-Star Game, and Team Pacers is made up of guard Tyrese Halliburton, shooting guard/forward Bennedict Mathurin and power forward/center Miles Turner. Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes are on Team All-Stars.

Banchero previously was selected by NBA coaches as a reserve for the All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 18. The league had previously announced that he also will compete as a sophomore in the Rising Stars competition on Friday, Feb. 17.

He won’t be the only Magic representation on All-Star Saturday either. Osceola Magic guard Mac McClung will defend his title in the Slam Dunk contest. He will take on Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, New York Knicks guard Jacob Toppin and Miami Heat guard Jaime Jaquez Jr.

The Magic don’t have any participants in the 3-point contest. They rank last in the NBA in 3-pointers made, with 594 for the season, and their 3-point percentage ranks 29th at 34.4%.

The 3-point contestants on All-Star Saturday are Milwaukee Bucks guard/forward Malik Beasley, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Bucks guard Damian Lillard, Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns, Halliburton and Young.
