Becky Cheatle reveals how the film series helped her transition – and replace her old stand-up set about being a grumpy middle-aged man

When comedian Becky Cheatle was choosing her name after her transition, she took inspiration from her favourite film franchise: Star Wars.
“My legal name is Becky Starfighter Cheatle,” she says. “I was changing it anyway, and thought ‘Well, I can do whatever I want’.”
