Despite a total population of 22 crores, 12.69 crore voters are participating in the election process. Unfortunately, certain areas, like Dhurnal village, exemplify persisting gender disparities, with a ban on women voting for the past 50 years due to entrenched patriarchal beliefs.

In the Shangla district of khyber pakhtunkhwa province, women's voter turnout is notably low. The election commission of pakistan reports a total of 128 million registered voters, with 59 million being women. The prevailing challenge is reflected in the unequal allocation of polling stations for men and women. Out of 90,675 polling stations established across pakistan for the current elections, 41,403 cater to both genders, while 25,320 and 23,952 are exclusively for male and female voters, respectively.

The distribution of polling stations in different provinces includes 50,944 in Punjab, 19,006 in Sindh, 15,697 in khyber pakhtunkhwa, and 5,028 in Balochistan. With a total of 2,76,398 polling booths, comprising 1,47,552 for men and 1,28,846 for women, the election process seeks to address and navigate these gender-specific challenges and disparities in voting accessibility.
