Eagle County Democrats to host forum for commissioner candidates
Eagle County Democrats are hosting a forum for county commissioner candidates on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Eagle County Building.
The free forum will provide the community with the opportunity to meet and engage with Democratic candidates running for Eagle County Commissioner. The Eagle County building is located at 500 S. Broadway in Eagle, and the forum will be held in the garden-level classroom.
Incumbent Commissioner Matt Scherr of District 1, and District 2 candidates Tom Boyd, Geoff Grimmer, and Sarah Smith Hymes will all be in attendance. Voters are encouraged to submit questions and topics they would like to hear the candidates answer and address by emailing them to info@eagledems.org by Feb. 9.
Registered Democrats in Eagle County will designate which of the District 2 candidates will appear on the June 25 state non-presidential primary ballot at the upcoming county assembly to be held virtually on Saturday, March 9, at 3 p.m. To participate in the Eagle County Democrats’ caucus, assembly and convention, voters must be registered Democrats in Eagle County no later than Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. 16- and 17-year old pre-registered Democrats are also eligible to participate and be elected as delegates.
