Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse Updates: All 41 Workers Safely Rescued; PM Modi Speaks to CM Dhami on Rescue Op

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the rescued workers on call after the rescue op came to an end on Tuesday evening.

It has been 17 days fuelled by anxiety with bursts of hope and largely courage on part of the 41 workers, who got trapped inside the collapsed section of the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi on November 12, the morning of Diwali. As per the latest update, rescue operation at the Silkyara tunnel site has come to an end. All the workers were taken out safely and have been taken to the community hospital.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to X after the succesful rescue operation at the Uttarkashi tunnel site. He saluted the patience and courage of workers and said that the hard work of rescue agencies have paid off.

President Droupadi Murmu took to X to congratulate the resilience of workers who were trapped in the tunnel site.

As 10 workers have been rescued out of the tunnel site as of now, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the updates of the rescue operation on X and said that initial medical check-ups are being conducted.

Warm clothes and initial medical check ups have been provided to the first three rescued workers.

After the first two workers being rescued from the tunnel site, a third worker has also been rescued from the site.
