The NSE Nifty50 index ended 7.3 points down at 19794.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 47.77 points at 65970.04.
Cipla Ltd.(up 2.39%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.3%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.06%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.16%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.94%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 0.83%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.7%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.47%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.45%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.68%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.61%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.49%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.45%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.31%), UPL Ltd.(down 1.22%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.07%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.04%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.94%) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.91%) closed in the red.
