A road accident between an SUV and a truck left one person dead and two others injured in Maharastra’s Navi Mumbai early Friday morning. The accident took place in the Nerul area near NMMC headquarters. The injured are said to be in a critical condition.
A report in Loksatta stated varying death toll saying three persons have been killed in the accident.
In a video of the accident site posted by news agency PTI, the car could be seen in a dilapidated condition over the divider and a part of it is stuck under the truck.

It appears that the cars crashed into the truck at a high speed which left the front portion of the car completely crushed. Bystanders pulled the injured persons out of the car and rushed them to the hospital, reports said.
More details about the accident and the identities of the people involved are not clear at the moment.
In September 2023, a senior citizen was crushed to death by a tanker that allegedly hit his car and then dragged him for some distance in Navi Mumbai. The incident reportedly took place at a bridge in Tara village on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Navi Mumbai.
According to police, 60-year-old Srikant More, a resident of Khalapur in Raigad district, was travelling with his wife in their car when the tanker rammed into their vehicle from behind.
When the man got down from his car to talk to the tanker driver, the latter moved his vehicle, dragging the victim along with it to some distance, an official said quoting the woman’s complaint.
