Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.89% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:49AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Pfizer Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.48 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.27 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Cipla Ltd.(down 4.16 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.69 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.89 per cent at 15926.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 6.3 points at 19805.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 2.0 points at 66021.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Honasa Consumer, Munjal Auto Ind, Syncom Form, Man Infracons and Emami Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shaily Engg Pla, Bohra Industries, Lords Chloro, Fourth Dimension Sol and Winsome Yarns hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
