Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.31% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:44AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.26 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.1 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.1 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.31 per cent at 43553.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 28.4 points at 19811.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 94.38 points at 66025.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, JP Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Compucom Soft, Coral India Finance, Dhunseri Invst, Nitin Spinners and Emkay Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bohra Industries, Rajesh Exports, ESAF Small Finance, Winsome Yarns and ASK Automotive hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
