All the six injured were admitted to nearby hospitals in Pirangut and Lavale Phata, said the Paud police adding that an injured car driver lodged a complaint against the truck driver who fled the scene after the horrific accident. 

At least six people sustained injuries when a speeding truck lost control and collided with several parked vehicles on the Kolad-Pune Highway.

The incident occurred at 12:45 PM on Paud Road at Lavale Phata under the limits of the highway on Saturday. An overloaded cement truck lost control and endangered several pedestrians, causing a dust storm, according to the Times of India.

All the six injured were admitted to nearby hospitals in Pirangut and Lavale Phata, said the Paud police adding that an injured car driver lodged a complaint against the truck driver who fled the scene after the horrific accident.

The police said that the truck was heading towards Paud from Pune when the truck driver lost control and hit a car and five two-wheelers.

The crash also resulted in paver blockage causing a traffic jam for almost an hour, said the police adding that vehicular movement was restored around 2 PM. Paud police officials are tracing the driver who has been on the run since then.

In a separate accident in August, at least two were killed and four others injured in a road accident as a container travelling on the Mumbai-Pune expressway overturned and caused damage to around five cars. The accident led to a disruption on the lane heading to Pune.

Earlier on November 19, five policemen were killed and two others were injured when their vehicle rammed into a parked truck in Rajasthan’s Churu district/

Superintendent of Police, Churu, Praveen Nayak said the accident took place in Sujangarh Sadar police station area.  The policemen were going to Taranagar to attend an election meeting.  The deceased policemen have been identified as ASI Ramchandra of Khinvsar police station, constables Kumbharam, Suresh Meena, Thanaram and Mahendra.
